lately february

Today I am starting a new series on the blog of what I am liking/doing lately. I'm thinking this will be a monthly (or maybe even bimonthly) post that will feature things I am currently enjoying. I saw this on Summer Wind blog, and I was inspired to do something similar! I'm hoping in doing this you can get to know me a little bit better! Let me know what you think.

Reading: I am currently reading Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, which is a nice break from the high fantasy Fellowship of the Ring which I just finished reading for school.  I really like the realistic-ness of Fangirl, but at times I feel that the main character gets a bit mopey and ridiculous. I also started to read Uninvited by Lysa TerKeust, but I am not a fan so far. I probably won't be continuing it- I find it hard to relate to. I expected it to be different than it is.

Listening: I definitely cannot narrow down my long list of songs I am listening to right now, but I will give you a list of just a few. I am really enjoying more unknown songs right now as well as my favorites from some indie bands. In other news- I got tickets to the Shawn Mendes and Charlie Puth concert this summer (super excited because Charlie Puth!!)

Watching: I recently watched Arrival starring Amy Adams. It was so beautiful and left me speechless. Such a great movie to watch especially if you like sci-fi and human thought. Definitely will be re-watching soon. Last night I watched The Edge of Seventeen starring Hailee Steinfeld and I loved it too! It was definitely relatable and I laughed way too hard at some parts.

Eating: I have been eating chocolate covered strawberries like crazy recently. My mom made some homemade and they were the best I've tried. Needless to say, I need to eat healthier now that Valentine's Day is behind us and spring break is nearby. I'm also obsessed with hummus at the moment- I love dipping pretzels in it. At least that's healthy!

Wearing: I am in love with these Victoria's secret leggings. They have a high waistband that flattens your tummy and the material is so soft. I sleep in these, lounge around the house in these, workout in these, and even go to school in these! I've also been loving my new Marc Fisher shoes. I have two pairs of heels and they are so comfortable- scalloped sandal and black mary janes. I highly recommend checking out the brand! I also have a bonus item- this cute scalloped swim suit from Target! I can't wait to wear it this summer! It's a great buy for spring break and is a dupe for the Marysia swim suits.

Beauty-ing: I've gotten back into Essie nailpolish this last week. My favorite color at the moment is Splash of Grenadine! It's the perfect shade for spring and summer. I have it on my toes right now.

Doing: Recently all I have been doing is studying. I go to school, come home and chill, and then do my homework and go to bed. Not that interesting, but I have severe senioritis and just want to graduate already. In another note, I competed in my last Model United Nations conference! I won Best Delegate in my committee. Here is a picture of me with my twin brother who also competed! (he's making a silly face in this- lol!) If you all would like outfit ideas for Model UN comps, please let me know! I like to look stylish but work-appropriate at the conferences.

Thank you so much for reading! Please let me know if you would like to continue to see this type of post each month!

As always,
