19 things i've learned in my 19 years of life

Hello friends! Yesterday, July 17th, was my 19th birthday and to commemorate the occasion I decided a birthday post was necessary. A friend of mine told me I should post about 19 things I've learned in my lifetime, so I decided instead to focus on things I have learned in this year of life. This year has been very important in my life. I experienced life as an adult by signing my own permission slips (literally the only thing I was looking forward to as an adult!). I applied to college, got an A in Ap Calculus (and AP credit woo woo), got accepted into my dream school, graduated high school, and gone to the Land Down Under. I tackled my fear of snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef, learned how delicious guacamole actually is, and started this blog!

In my 19th year of life, I look forward to moving in to college, taking my first college exams (well not really but it is crazy to think that will happen), travel some more, and expand the blog. I am so excited to see what this next year has in store, and I have a feeling it will be the best one yet. So, without rambling anymore, here are the 19 things I've learned.

1. Be proud of everything you have accomplished, and don't be afraid to brag about it a bit
2. Fearlessly fight for your passions and let them be known
3. Show others when you are hurting
4. Study hard, the work pays off
5. Stand up for injustices even when others won't
6. Laugh at the hiccups in everyday life
7. Turning up the music in your car and rolling the windows down is one of the best feelings
8. Eat that chocolate, but eat it in moderation
9. Exercise is good for the soul (and for anxiety and stress!!)
10. Use promo codes whenever possible

11. Dress up as much as you want
12. Put half of your summer money into savings- it will add up quickly!
13. Set your eyes on traveling
14. You don't have to take a photo of everything you do
15. Snapchat is a waste of time (for me at least!)
16. Find your signature (your signature lipstick, outfit, etc.)
17. Sometimes venting your feelings/worries/upsets is the best remedy
18. Listen to all types of music- there is so much out there!
19. Live boldly and crave adventure

I hope you all enjoyed. Do you live by any of these statements? What will you do to commemorate your birthday this year?

As always,

  2. So much yes to dressing up whenever you want. Life is too short to waste any opportunity to wear a pretty dress!
